Explore calming techniques that activate your body’s relaxation response, promoting emotional balance and mental clarity.

Breathing for Calm is a two hour workshop designed to help participants understand and harness the power of breathing techniques to reduce stress and achieve more calm.

Through interactive sessions, participants will explore the science of breathing techniques for stress reduction. You will also learn a range of techniques and practical strategies for making breathing techniques a part of your stress management and self-regulation process.

In this two hour workshop you’ll discover how to use evidence based breathing and mind-body techniques to navigate daily stress, manage anxiety and build resilience. You will:

• Understand how breathing indicates and regulates stress and hyperarousal
• Learn about how the amygdala creates changes in breathing that perpetuate
stress
• Learn how to use a range of techniques such as:
1. Mindfulness of the breath– Paying attention to the body and the breath
in the right way using direct and indirect techniques
2. Slow and paced breathing
3. Breathing with multiple rhythms
4. Reduced volume breathing and the importance of CO2 control
• Learn how to integrate breathing practices into your daily life with formal and
informal practice
